Progressive Technology Project (PTP) was founded by grassroots organizers to support social change community-led organizing in low income communities and communities of color. Our mission is to help community organizations achieve their goals more effectively and efficiently. Our programs help comnunity organizers build their skills and understanding to integrate technology into the work of the organizations.

Founded in 1998, PTP strengthens grassroots social change community organizing in poor communities and communities of color by

• convening events to exchange ideas and experiences about new technology,
• conducting training sessions on technology for organizers,
• providing a framework for technical assistance,
• providing downloadable how-to resources on this web site,
• raising and re-granting funds for organizing technology.
