PTP's Program: GRANTMAKING

Progressive Technology Project has two grants programs.

VOTER Project

PTP is seeking proposals! The VOTER Project is a new program for non-profit 501C3 organizing groups doing voter education and turnout work in 2008. This program is designed to improve the capacity of community-led organizing groups to integrate their voter projects with their on-going organizing programmatic work. This program includes an opportunity for 4-8 organizations to receive grants to support this work. More details are available here.

Organizing Technology Grants Program

Our flagship grants program is the Organizing and Technology Grants Program. We are NOT running it in 2008, due mainly to a lack of funds, certainly NOT due to a lack of interest. In our last round we received 180 qualified proposals requesting a total of $1.7 million, but we only had $100,000 in funds. For future reference, you can read the guidelines for the program by clicking here. Click here to see a list of grantees with their proposals. This program is for community organizing groups working in low income communities and communities of color. If your organization fits that description, click to fill out an organizational information form that will make sure your organization is on our email list for future notices.
